Can we get the whole “stop flying when you drop maker pen” feature removed? I’ve found it seriously infuriating when creating, it makes no sense to have added it! I’d argue that as many as tens of thousands of players specifically go out of their way to create an admin role or enable flying for everyone, with the explicit purpose of being able to fly after dropping their makerpen. If they didn’t want that to happen, they wouldn’t turn on the role permission that circumvents it. I’m shocked it wasn’t at least made a toggle and was just forced upon us out of nowhere. Simply pressing the jump button to stop flying when needed is by no means complicated enough to merit being turned into an automatic action, especially not one that we have no control over.
Quickly dropping and grabbing the makerpen is a great trick that has likely existed as long as the makerpen itself. It can be used for quickly and easily

  • Exiting containers, circuitboards, and animations
  • Properly picking up or equipping/unequipping an object you’re working with
  • Briefly hiding circuits from view to look around
  • Deselecting objects when you don’t want to swap out from your current tool to the select tool

All of that is gone if you hoped to do any of it in the air.

This isn’t just my problem, a lot of creators are dealing with this.

I get why AIRS is there and I agree with removing bad inventions, but wiping out a whole room with years of work over one possible bad invention just feels wrong.

AIRS should just take out the bad item, tell the player exactly what got removed and why, and leave the rest alone. Right now people lose so much progress with barely any info.

And the ticket system honestly feels pointless. You make a ticket, get some vague answer, and nothing changes. It’s like talking to a brick wall.

People shouldn’t have to live in fear that AIRS will wrongly flag something harmless and take everything they have created.

Are there any plans to make AIRS clearer and fairer, and can you look into updating the ticket system so people actually get proper help?

I’ve been noticing a lot of anxiety around AIRS. It seems like the system does have false positives, which seem to result in a ton of headache for users who are unfairly affected. Namely, rooms get closed with no way to preserve any work (the user has no way to access anything in the room anymore.)

This seems like extremely destructive actions for a UGC platform trying to encourage people to build more. What’s worse is that there is little recourse over restoring flagged work. I’ve seen many cases of support tickets refusing to give the user more context over why an invention was flagged, they usually look like this:

So, not great. The user is just told the name of the invention, they aren’t told why it was flagged. I personally have a lot of inventions saved under gibberish names, so knowing the name of the invention wouldn’t narrow down anything for me if I was ever affected.

What are the next steps here? Even just 1 single false positive can be devastating for a creator just trying to make a game on your platform…

On the play store for rec room, it shows rec room characters changing certain parts of the buggie.

Is that like a planned feature? Or a render one of the staff members made for fun.

Ik this was kinda explained but i and others would love more info about the image if there is more.

yes i do know you can modify the buggie but i meant how we can modify it like how it’s shown in the render.

The render in case you don’t know what i am talking about:

I have two things. One minor, one very major.

One: Will we ever be able to (via CV2) change attributes of a Projectile Constant like we can with things such as a Player World UI constants and HUD constants? Or maybe be available in the Projectile Launcher for easier use with actual player-usable weapons?

Two: Why is Maker AI going so off the rails from it’s original plan? It was just supposed to be an assistant tool for newer creators, grabbing inventions, moving around objects relative to the world space, maybe changing the mood. But now it is purely Generative AI, NOT an assistant tool. It can now fully generate Circuit Graphs and can also soon (from what I’ve read) generate models using shapes. The fact all of the big guys upstairs are caring about AI only at the moment and seemingly not our manual creation tools that we’ve had and had been actively updated for years really hurts us creators. People like me have genuinely started to move on because of this, it is severely breaking our trust.

Please Add Clamps to Rooms 2.0 :folded_hands:

As a creator, I use clamps a ton when it come to animations, needing it to hold objects in place such as seats on a thrill ride to their base, and the clamp does that as well as makes it easy to use as the pivot point for the groupings of objects. And in doing so, I can connect multiple animation controllers and clamps to have several joints, with each animation operating separately.

I know the hierarchy is supposed to replace clamps, but it can’t do all the same functions of the clamp. Even just being able to easily move around the “pivot point” (aka the clamp) is vital, and being able to clamp animation controllers (which also clamps their groupings together) is something we really rely on when doing animations.

(Search “JVR” in the Invention Store to find all my free rides which uses clamp > animation controller > clamp > animation controller combos if you’d like to see some examples of how clamps are needed in Rooms 2.0)

So we have the CV2 chip where we can see Player Outfit Slots, and to view a limited amount of tags set on an item worn. Would it be possible in the future to expand more on those tags, or to allow a configure option to select a specific item, whether it’s UGC, or just the exact name of an item worn?

With relations to the RR+ feature that allows users to create other clothes now such as hoodies, shoes, etc. Can you guys make it to where we can ‘Modify’ the hats?:sob: I’ve sold a lot of my personal created ones & the number 1 complaint I get is why we can’t ‘Modify’ the hats to whatever angle we think looks good:hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:t4:

Thanks for listening.

Will there be a Upgrade of Graphics Settings?

A Concept how it would look like

@ThatHelpfulEagle

Will we ever be able to (via CV2) change attributes of a Projectile Constant like we can with things such as a Player World UI constants and HUD constants? Or maybe be available in the Projectile Launcher for easier use with actual player-usable weapons?

I don’t think this will be implemented very soon(for now you will have to use a copy of the Projectile constant if you want to customize it’s config values) but there will be updates where you can either use the custom projectile to the projectile launcher or use CV2 chips to modify Projectile constant properties

@JebGaming Gribbly just let me know that next update we got a setting in for yall that will allow you to toggle what happens when you drop your Maker Pen - nothing or stop flying. This came out of us seeing all of the feedback on this feature in the Creator AMA so cheers to everyone who showed up and helped draw attention to this request!

Are there any plans to enhance human moderation beyond just AIRS or whatever your pronounce it as? I believe on behalf of everyone, we could use more improvement and take less severe action on games that feature that invention. I had my game taken down for an invention I didn’t even have in-game.

There was a moderation feature that was teased in research lab. can’t talk about how it works or what would be used for because it’s against Research Lab TOS.

what happened to it? was it scrapped? is it still being worked on? did it got replaced by AIRS? we do need this feature in certain rooms that has people abusing the feature.

Will Rec Room ever come up with a railway or navigation gadget that follows set paths? I know animation gizmos exist but it’s hard making trains with player control in Rec Room, especially when you’d like to have multiple tracks, turning track, and gradients.

If this would ever come out, would it come out for Rooms V1 or Rooms V2? I usually work with Rooms V1 but would consider working with Rooms V2 if this became a feature.

Thanks!

Can we have better moderation? More that makes sure no one says anything bad or outright looks inappropriate or is being racist or is discriminating other people and saying slurs, and normal people get banned or muted for absolutely no reason. It’s very difficult for people, So please have better moderation.

Is Rec Room seeing a crash log every time I crash in Rooms 2? I’m on a full crash/device restart every 2 hours or so, sometimes with a recover needed. It’s a bit tedious when trying to complete the contest room.

Any idea when premium R2 Inventions will be released? I personally have a few inventions of mine that I want to sell however I cannot due to this lack of Premium R2 inventions.

With up the roomie robot recently released to the general player base (rr+ players) will we see the ability for people to make roomie items and or skins? Such as ugc and maybe some rr made skins for like future contest similar to how you guys give out makerpen skins to winner. I think it would be interesting concept and give more creative control to the community!

Since roomie and Maker AI support alot of languages. Will the alphabets of the other languages be supported?

My native language which is georgian is supported by both AIs (atleast maker ai, not sure with roomie). But the font isnt and just comes up as rectangles whenever i type it in as a text, or in the subtitles for roomie and maker ai.

The georgian alphabet in qwerty layout in-case you are wondering how they look like:
ქ წ/ჭ ე რ/ღ ტ/თ ყ უ ი ო პ
ა ს/შ დ ფ გ ჰ ჯ/ჟ კ ლ
ზ/ძ ხ ც/ჩ ვ ბ ნ მ
