You’ve seen Roomie hanging out with our Video Partners and now Roomie is here for you too. Roomie is your personal AI buddy; built to explore, chat, and bring some magic - and chaos - to any situation.
Roomie lives in your Backpack and is always ready to hang out, offer a second opinion on your outfit, crack a joke, or help you navigate the world of Rec Room.
While we’ve designed Roomie’s starting look and personality, the real magic happens when you make Roomie your own. Name them. Change their colors. Pick their voice. Give them a whole new personality with Custom Instructions. You can even make Roomie speak in another language.
Early access for RR+ members is rolling out tonight!
What Can Roomie Do?
Roomie is already packed with features, and we’re just getting started:
Chat
Talk to Roomie like you would a friend. Ask about Rec Room, your surroundings, the weather outside, or something totally random.
Personalize
Roomie is fully customizable. Ask it to change its name, tweak its body color, or open its settings menu to go even deeper with Custom Instructions. Want your Roomie to talk like a pirate? Only speak in limericks? Done.
Socialize
Roomie can send cheers, invite friends, spawn snacks and drinks, and even snap photos when the vibes are just right.
Explore the World
Roomie can see what you see. Want a sign translated? Roomie’s on it. It can even tell you more about a room or creator so you don’t have to open your watch.
Style Up
Need a wardrobe refresh? Ask Roomie to suggest a new look — or roast your current one

How Do I Personalize My Roomie?
Basic customization is as easy as asking. But if you want to go further:

How Do I Get Roomie?
Roomie is launching in Early Access for RR+ members. If you’re subscribed to RR+, you’ll find Roomie in your Backpack → Tools. On screens, you can also deploy Roomie from the Equipment menu.
We’ll share more about long-term access plans in the future — but for now, RR+ players can start hanging out with Roomie very soon.
