can you rephrase this plz? the text is a bit confusing and makes it hard for me to tell what’s actually being asked
“Play Test Update” - is this something you’ve seen RR staff talk about before? I’m not aware of a play test update? any clarity here would be helpful.
Are you asking when Rec Room will have a public test server?
We got this question during the Oct AMA and here’s a TLDR of the question and answer which we posted here:
[Discord voice - Evertide] Will rooms 2.0 ever give us the ability to do player scale / mess with the scale of players?
We had this working at one point with costumes. The reason it hasn’t been done for real with circuits yet is because it leads to a giant can of worms around objects your holding, and colliosons in the world, and the size of your collider interacting with smaller colliders. So its something we really want to get to, but that will take a lot of time to get right. Nothing on the roadmap right now.

yes! the last update I got from the team on this fix was likely sometime in mid Nov, but that could always change due to ship schedule issues Tube Has Been Broken For Weeks Now - #15 by Shawn
Thanks for telling me
Gribbly addressed this in the Oct Creator AMA! Youtube link to this Question: https://youtu.be/cnX3w-BXH9M?si=Ar1hjQNfsJwhP7BA&t=922
I still find functions a pain to use. Is there any chance we could improve the UI/UX surrounding functions?
A recent change to functions where changing the object in an instruction would keep the method as long as the new object could support it has been amazing, but there are still a few tools us creators would love:
- Functions are really long, could we get the ability to collapse/expand Functions, Switches, and Cases?
- Making similar/duplicate functions, switches, or switch cases can be very annoying and incredibly slow, could we get Copy, Paste, and Duplicate buttons for Functions, Switches, and Switch Cases?
- Purely for ease of access, could we get the ability to move instructions/switches/switch cases inside a function
Yeah, test the item before the item gets added item on the new update. Give someone access to test the item
One more question because I was just reminded of it. I think the community could benefit a lot from a chip that reads the amount of players total in a subroom of the current room
Games can suffer issues with them appearing smaller than they actually are due to their community being split among multiple subrooms (Like with games that have multiple maps in different subrooms)
A chip that lets you read the amount of players in a given subroom could help with this, as players could choose what map they want to play not only off their favorite one, but might go “Maybe I shouldn’t play this map right now because there are no players online, where as this other map I like has a bunch of players, I’ll join them instead”
I think something that could add to that is having specific configurations for matchmaking in subrooms. For example here are a few options I can think of being a drop down on a sub-room:
- Always join subroom first. (Useful for a directory instance.)
- Always fill subroom last. / Unlisted subroom. (Useful for less important or “unlisted” subrooms.)
- Fill subroom equally to insert subroom. (Useful to keep smaller communities together and grow easier so there are less “full” instances and less “dead” instances.)
- Create new instance of subroom when total room player count is greater than or less than a specified player count.
I think options like these could massively improve rooms that are getting off their feet, but are somewhat burdened by having only 1 or two always full instances.
This may be annoying to hear as I’m sure other creators have mentioned this situation before; but what is the solution looking like for these hacker epidemics? Is there going to be patch updates on certain areas hackers look to exploit or maybe a all-new anti-cheat altogether? I apologize if this is a hot topic debate or tense one at that, but I’m just concern for myself and other creators that are now currently being affected by these hacker antics. Their level of power is overwhelming and damaging to our communities. Any update on this would be much appreciated!
will there ever be a way to edit the vertices on a cube to create new shapes
It’s hard to explain
But what if I could record my own movements, then replace my player model with a different players so they do the same movements
I wasn’t able to make it, but looking forward to the recording & transcript.
I checked with the team and was told ‘no’. not sure on the reason why sry!
I would like to see it on there.
can we have the recording and transcript of this soon please?
