- Lack of a cv2 component that acts like the cv1 clamp, being able to enable and disable stuff being connected to another
- There not being a stop motion frame type for animation controllers (could also be said about rooms v.2)
add back a limits v2 like room thing
this has existed for a long time and has been the bane of my very existence when building.
Objects slowly shifting from their original build snap, Whenever I build on snap creating an object has it on one snap grid and as soon as I try to move it in anyway, it snaps onto a different grid that very much does not align with the original that it was built on. When rejoining the room these objects can sometimes move from their position it was left in making what was once a smooth surface into a uneven mess and if I were to try move those objects, they then snap onto a THIRD grid that doesnāt align with any of the other ones.
This has happened to pretty much every room I have ever touched, I have never fully tested what causes the objects to shift, if its saving, leaving and rejoining, or if its over time it breaks but overall, snap creation is extremely unreliable due to how they act like this.
After saving a R1 room on screen platforms your avatar completely breaks. As far as Iāve tested, this is only a problem on screen, and only happens in R1 rooms. Inviting another player into the room fixes it. Recorded a clip of it here.
Can we do one for 2.0 cuz i know tons for 2.0
colored cars still having opaque windows when colored
this bug was reported multiple times by multiple people but somehow still exists for like a year now
grid settings not having enough flexibility in values
sometimes you need grids that are 0.0001 or smaller but recroom only allows for 0.005 or higher
same goes for max value where sometimes you need a very big grid but you cant and you have to carefuly count the distance you moved an object
and before anyone says about disabling grid: with disabled grid its much harder to get something just right and for some stuff you need to move stuff very carefuly
Multiple bugs that need to be fixed is cv2 circuits not spawning in from and invention when screen mode players and some times vr players are in the room this also happens to clamps making all the clamps in the room look disconnected but still works but it allows nothing to be taken off of it or put on it and it effects everything after the glitch happens the trusty pickup truck apon recoloring it tints the window so you canāt see also if you sit behind the driver of the truck itās shifts them making it impossible to drive on vr with a full truck also randomly everyone in the game freezes shortly after everyone black screens and causing everyone to restart their game and this happens when more then 15 people are in a room it causes major problems also a huge and brand new problem is randomly but it happens the map deletes its self and deletes every item that tries to get spawned immediately this has happend to me in private rooms with just me and other rooms that are private but with me and my friends it also doesnāt impact RRS stuff so itās just maker pen created items.
-Trigger volume lists hold players that are not inside the volume, and sometimes players that arenāt even in the game anymore; they all eventually break in public lobbies.
-Players can wall run infinitely - they can use it to go upwards and insane speeds, getting a big boost. I donāt know exactly how they do it, but itās common and I could find out. It creates a bigger inbalance between vr and screen players, or just new and experienced vr players.
-Often when you pick up a gun it wonāt shoot, and you have to drop it and pick it up again; dropping it typically makes it launch somewhere (not that far, though).
-And then just general lag, itās gotten worse recently.
- CV2 breaking when theres 20-40 people, very often.
Often enough when theres alot of people in the room/joining it, spawning a invention with some CV2 tends to have its CV2 missing or not connected.
So for example to prep a Event, u gotta go alone first, spawn everything and then invite people (and hope the instance doesnt crash by people joining)
- Recoloring cars changes the Windows
Recoloring the Truck or Coupe is not possible as u cant see out of the glass. Very annoying
Alot of the time, connected objects in my R1 room just get unclamped. itās really annoying and its been a long standing bug. please fix clamps and also let us put tags on animation controllers.
I have a video of the issue, where can I send it to you?
here if you can share it publicly. if you canāt share publicly, DM it to me on Discord: shawncw1
just sent it to you via discord (starstepvr)
yāknow the one in R2 where people appear where they arent multiple times rapidly while moving? That happened in one of my rooms. It was onl for a few seconds though.
The Rec Room bug closest to my little heart (for more than 3 years now) is that the Glass cube in decorative mode blocks interactions, for example, players can throw stuff into a decorative Glass cube, but once something is inside a decorative Glass cube, players cannot grab it (unless they move into the Glass cube themselves). When Rec Room introduced this bug in early 2022, it broke my room ^PolycubePuzzles (which includes dozens of decorative Glass cubes as part of the game design) and it was the last straw that killed my remaining motivation to build in Rec Room. Iāve reported this bug dozens of times and have lost all hope that this bug ever will be fixed.
The bigger issue is that Rec Room has no problem breaking UGC rooms, not responding to bug reports, and not fixing many UGC-breaking bugs. This is particularly true for R1 rooms and CV1, but why would anyone assume that Rec Room will fix all bugs they introduce in R2 rooms and CV2 when they have a history of never fixing their old (much more basic) UGC tools? Rec Room might have the ambition to fix all (or at least the most upvoted) R2 and CV2 bugs now, but what about in a few years when R2 and CV2 become legacy features? For me, itās just not worth it to test my rooms after each Rec Room update on multiple platforms, analyzing new bugs introduced by Rec Room, reporting them to Rec Room, and finding work-arounds to fix them myself in case Rec Room doesnāt fix a bug. Been there, done that for a few years, and Iāve moved on.
And to return to issues with R1 rooms specifically: the communication by Rec Room (e.g. here: The Messy Middle ) made it very clear that Rec Room wants all creators to work on R2 rooms instead of R1 rooms as soon as possible. Thus, UGC creators are probably just wasting their time if they work on R1 rooms. Support for R1 rooms is already limited; how long R1 rooms will be featured in the watch menu and allowed in contests is unclear. In fact, I would not be surprised if R1 rooms would be phased out altogether and removed soon. This is probably the elephant in the R1 room.
Also thereās the old glitch where if you recolour a car or truck the glass changes to that colour and is no longer see-through.
