From Rec Room making V2 everything from chips to objects, there were some much needed upgrades to the old tools. Now when they upgrade new tech, old stuff gets removed such as from animation V1 - Removing “Stop at end” and “Stop at start” from V2 which is very inconvenient. A project that I’m working on requires us needing those tools with animation V2. Also, for animation V1, there desperately needs to be a bug fix for them. For example, when you try to change the speed of an animation gizmo (V1) the animation completely bugs out and the animation entirely just stops working.
I will also be reporting this bug to Rec Room after they return from there break which should be very soon.
NOT AN AMA QUESTION, but feedback | Can we go back to the heart system for liking posts for the next AMA? This upvote/downvote system isnt very good as the most upvoted posts only get more upvotes because they’re at the top and people downvote posts mainly for no reason, or to get their posts higher.
Something I find annoying is synchronizing. Now before I get responded to with “we’re working on it” or “There are more important issues to fix before we get to that”, I may create a list for a lot of issues regarding local and non local actions. I feel prioritizing player functions is a must for a social game.
fullbody avatar freaks out when a player is laying down/abusing height and falling/jumping
animations sometimes will not activate on all users (animation gizmo V2/V1)
fullbody avatar isn’t well attached to the player. it ‘lags’ behind giving weird effects.
Summary
(example: being able to attack a moving player and having a higher chance at hitting them over a non fullbody user)
that should be it. aside from my desire for beam emitters from crescendo to be added to the makerpen palette.
Not long ago you’s worked on the advanced creation menu for screenies, and that’s great! But since the VR shortcuts for makerpen tools came out (i have loved them so much since day 1) i’ve thought that you’s should really add more stuff to it! Personally i’m thinking there are 3 sliders we especially need:
Snapping Mode — so we can swap between Grid, Surface, and Off
Position Snapping — so we can easily change the size of our shapes as we go
Rotation Snapping — so we can quickly better specify how we want to rotate objects
and also i guess a toggle for world space and/or show circuits would be neat.
They wouldn’t be actual sliders like in the UI, maybe just when you hover over one of these blocks an extra set of blocks appears next to it letting you pick from the main settings for rotation snapping (1°, 5°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 90°) or position snapping (0.005, 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1, 10, 100)
I understand that you want rooms2.0 to be the next step for creators but what does that mean for everyone who has spent years mastering Room 1.0. Personal opinion but I don’t like building in 2.0 because of how different it is. This might just be me and my friends but I think other people have the same opinion as me. So I just want to know what this means fort these type of people?
(Not a creator-related question, but a general pet peeve of mine.)
Will in-game chat support other languages with separate characters (e.g. Greek, Russian, Hindi, etc.) without being censored out?
It’s inconvenient how me and my friend cant chat in Greek without having to drop into PM’s just to chat. It gets annoying fast having to do that again and again. Off and on with the watch.
Could we possibly see a decline in items costs this year? On another note can we also expect better progression on being able to import 1.0 inventions into 2.0 rooms without it bugging and rotating oddly. Or maybe another shape of tube or on how it works I think it would be cool to not have 3 tube bend weirdly and have an option to have it straighten out.
