We’ve recently completed our experiment to increase circuit limits in Rooms 2 and are excited to announce these big changes are here to stay!
These updates are possible due to a large number of back-end optimizations in Rooms 2 over many months. Thanks to these improvements, we’ve seen no increases in crash rate even on low-end devices while making these limits higher.
New Chip Limit
+50% Chip count
The maximum amount of chips in Rooms 2 are now increased from 5000 to 7500!
More CPU & Net heat
+50% CPU heat & +100% Net heat capacity
The number of players allowed in a room no longer affects the net heat limit. You can now set the player capacity of your rooms without being restricted by the previous limits.
If you’re getting started in the circuiteering, we’d recommend checking out our Circuits 101 video to learn how you can use these new limits in your rooms and ask questions in the #circuits tag area on these creator forums.
We’re still working on other Rooms 2 stability improvements, with more replicator and menu fixes, and changes that make connecting circuits easier coming soon, stay tuned!
If we’re allowed to know, are there any plans to further increase the chip limit? 7500 is a massive amount to work with I won’t lie, but I’m curious about what can actually be considered “pushing rec room to it’s absolute limits” considering rooms2 is effectively brand new code ground up
Will you guys ever be able to increase Rooms 1.0 cv2 limites, because ive been working on a room for some time but i just need the capacity to be a little bit higher to complete it.
I did hear about conversion for 1.0 to 2.0, but if this does happen, I would be scared to and feel like the circuits would break, because even when making circuits into a circuit board it like messes with the local and syncing of playing the chips.
