A way to make event chips send to every single instance of the room
The short answer is no.
The long answer is, if you have a broadcasted event, you can send an event to other instance of the broadcasted event.
Thats not what I meant I mean an event chip that can send data to every active instance not a broadcast
Theres ways to do this with the various time chips (i.e have a live event across all instances at the certain time) or with cloud variables (have synced data per account across instances)
However what I think you’re suggesting is a chip that allows you to interact with other instances as a player, which seems to be far too complicated at Rec Rooms current level.
Maybe one day tho! Would make for some neat gameplay mechanics ngl
RecRoom has actually already done this.
Broadcasting has been given out before to a few select players for live events. I’ve personally worked with these chips before and they work just like you would expect. They are just event definitions that can reach the scope of other instances. (I think the broadcasting instance is the only one that can send events though.)
I’m unsure of the reason this isn’t a feature for creators (maybe it’s unstable?) but it seemed pretty flushed out at the time and worked for as many instances as your room could fill. I would love to see these become a reality, it could definitely improve events and would be interesting to see what creators could accomplish with it.
However, dedicated circuits for room wide event definitions, variables and cloud variables would be miles more helpful. Room Events and Room Variables
Hope the devs are still thinking about this one.
