Genuinely, removing classic bean will kill so much of the playerbase. The new bean is way too clunky and it looks horrendous. Its just FBA without the limbs and looks HORRIBLE.
I love the classic bean body! The new bean body, with noses and eyebrows, just looks weird
You can remove those on new bean.
Won’t happen. The main thing is that the new bean body also comes with important performance improvements for the game.
And I would be REALLY surprised if it really kills a noticeable part of the player base.
and they have fingers
They have the exact same number of digits as the old bean. One thumb, one index finger, and a creepy-when-you-think-about-it wide finger that is the middle, ring, and pinky fingers combined. Also “clunky” would be the wrong word here (OP), as it is specifically designed to look more smooth.
Being seen while holding objects? Awesome. Alot of people have been wanting that to happen for years now, it looks great. (can bit weird on custom shapes to be fair)
Animating between pointing and open hand? Nice, not as immediate as the old one which makes timing gestures a biiiit less effective, but very barely and it looks nicer anyways.
Glovewear being visible while pointing? Fantastic, your favourite glovewear can be seen at all times now and doesn’t just vanish. I guess the hitbox of your hand can be a bit deceiving but still worth it and only us VR players need to adapt to it for when we interact with menus anyways.
Being smaller? This is real, but also exaggerated sliiiightly further due to the offsets of your hands from your VR controllers being slightly further away from you than before. Takes some annoying readapting of your muscle memory especially for VR typing, but since using New Bean for a while, going back to the Old Bean you will feel like the old hands were absurdly large.
Screenie hands animating differently? A very welcome change in my opinion, no more A-posing while ominously floating around. Though i absolutely will miss how funny it looked when you thought about it, a proper running animation is better, 'nuff said.
