Me and my friends have always wanted to make a randomly generated game with ais. The issue is we cant bake navmesh so we cant make it random and have ais, they just cant go together. The solution is to make a simple chip which bakes navmesh, just like the button in room settings, it does not have to be an instant process, it can take time. Please get this popular, it will make games so much cooler. ALSO DONT LOCK IT BEHIND ROOMS 2 OR RRS PLEASE.
This would be so helpfull for a game im makeing
Pretty sure most (if not all) new features will be Rooms 2.0 as it becomes the new standard
Great idea though. I’d love to see something like this in-game!
hehehe
I must play devil’s advocate and say that I agree with RecRoom if they intend to keep all new features locked in rooms 2.0, I want to see them fully develop this platform as it seems to have great potential. It seems unreasonable to develop for an older creation space where there’s a potential for more hurdles and bugs, also creators moving to use the new platform and tools sounds great to me!
HOWEVER. This feature is unique and I can definitely see where it could be used in my own projects, additionally it seems this could all be handled within whatever code makes up the navmesh baking, and I assume that isn’t exclusive to rooms 1 or 2.
But what do I know? I not a developer… or am I? NO no… haha of course not.
This is something rec room will always do…
if I see this come into rec room, I may put an event receiver set to update 30hz
Great, nice idea I need it
