You can now use Maker AI to generate circuits!

Hey everyone,

This week we opened up the ability for players to start testing out Maker AI for creating circuits. As a reminder this is currently only available to RR+ subscribers and only in your dorm room.

You can find the Maker AI dorm room in the menu > Create > My Dorms > new dorm room with Maker AI. It’s still very early days for Maker AI when it comes to circuits, so while you’re experimenting with this new feature please be aware of its current limitations:

  • This feature is early, and Maker AI will sometimes make mistakes / things just won’t work. We are actively improving it - and you trying it out helps!
  • Maker AI can generate circuits for singular objects. But not multiple separate objects.
    • Example - “make this frog jump up and down” works but “make all the frogs jump up and down in unison” doesn’t currently work
  • Maker AI can generate and iterate on its own AI-generated circuits. But not on circuits or boards built / edited by the creator.
    • Example - [continuing from the previous example]
      • “make the frog move in a circle” will cause Maker AI to iterate directly on the jumping circuit from earlier, and the frog will now jump in a circle
      • BUT, if you edited the jumping circuit first, Maker AI will replace your work with a circuit based on just the prompt history
      • If you build your own “jumping in a circle” circuit and ask Maker AI to figure out why it’s not working, it won’t be able to
  • Maker AI can move objects relative to their current position. But not relative to other objects.
    • Example - “move the frog 2 feet to the right” works but “move the frog to the right of the tree” doesn’t
  • Most chips are supported but not all chips
    • Maker AI will try to fulfil requests based on the chips it does have access to currently
    • Some examples of chips that are not currently supported: pathfinder, gizmos, custom events / properties, and things defined at room scope

I like the potential of the Maker AI being able to create circuits.
I am very bad at creating circuits, so I usually have a friend to do it for me, but this will make my life, and others who cannot use circuits much easier.
