Hello Rec Room team,
I would like to suggest adding CV2 support for the Link Button, allowing creators to control it more professionally and flexibly inside rooms.
Currently, the Link Button is static and cannot be dynamically managed through circuits, which limits its potential for custom UI designs.
Here’s the proposal:
- Introduce two simple CV2 chips related to the Link Button:
- Constant Chip:
- Allows creators to configure the Link Target Type (such as Player, Club, Invention, Player Event, or Room).
- This would enable dynamic linking to different targets based on the room’s logic.
-
- Execution Chip:
- A simple execution input that, when triggered, activates the Link Button action (for example, opening the configured link).
- No event receivers needed — just an execution wire to control it manually.
- This feature would allow Link Buttons to be integrated much more seamlessly into custom in-room UI systems, providing players with a smoother and more professional experience.
- Additionally, this update would be extremely beneficial for creators working with Rec Room Studio to build advanced UI designs.
It would allow more dynamic, professional UI systems that can interact smoothly with players, clubs, inventions, and rooms without being tied to static links.
This small but powerful feature would open many new possibilities for interactive rooms and polished experiences!
Thank you for considering this!
