I miss the faces, the new ones look off

I find the new bean’s facial structure to be strange. When using the beard, the proportions compared to the classic bean seem a little off; it appears the beard is too low on the face.

Whatever update has recently happened has made it slightly better, but I am having difficulty recreating the facial structure of the classic bean.

Okay, if we gotta look funky in the new bean, that’s one thing. But it’s becoming a massive issue for PVP. PVP needs optimized at the very least. Drag is basically gone with this new update. Hitboxes are super messed up as well. Lag is also horrendous

Bring back the old mouth animation back for the “default” mouth

I feel the new avatars are okay in my opinion. the only thing I have to say is that you say you are trying to make the new avatars as close to the old ones as possible and I see that you are almost there. the only issue I have is that the “default” mouth (first one in selection page) has different animations from the old one. This makes my avatar look completely different to how it used to with old avatars.

I would love the option to maybe go back to the old mouth animations. Maybe you can add more animations for each mouth selection. I really dislike the new default mouth. This is the only big issue I have with these new avatars. Please give it a thought. People are unhappy with the new avatars as it is already, so I believe this change will ease some of the hate.

It wasn’t about “optimization”, they did it for greedy money reasons as always

Please add an option to have the style of old bean, like animations, proportions, and facial proportions, also make it less buggy, every time I use the new bean the proportions revert me to looking like a twig. Or add an option for classic bean, where items aren’t made for it, and it isn’t updated at all, please. I’m genuinely thinking of canceling my RR+ and quitting the game because of this update.

They’re eventually adding a feature called “Personas” that’ll let you be able to somewhat bring back the Old Bean on UBA, unsure of when it’s going to be released, but give the team time.

Alr i got to yap about moving over to the new bean kinda at a bad time.

So first problem: The community will not calm down (just let them be happy PLEASE)
Second problem: Costumes. Lemme explain

The costume hand is affected by “Always Show Hands”
The costume body is messed up. (The arms are misplaced slightly, rotated off, are resized incorrectly and the legs are ALSO misplased and just don’t attach to the floor
The head gets misplaced depending on how high you are from the default head height for your character.
The costume arms strech if the hands are too far from body.

THESE ARE VISUAL PROBLEMS FOR GAMES WITH COSTUMES
Also PLEASE calm the community down by ACUALLY listen the community, they are REALLY MAD

I don’t mind if we keep the body I think you should have a legacy version one so that costumes aren’t broken I know that the full body costume exists but all of the old costumes made with the original costume dummy are now either broken or clipping so now creator will have to go back and fix there work up now and or give up entirely I understand how this is supposed to help with optimization but the thing is I’ve seen multiple creators leave because of the way it was changed that’s why i strongly believe that you should have just kept the option to change back to the old bean some people like it and some don’t and that’s okay but with this update there are new bugs and way too much clipping not to mention the lag that is coming when multiple people are in rooms (I don’t wanna sound rude but this is a major problem in my opinion)

just make classic bean on the new tools bruh

The lag from rooms 2.0 is making it impossible to work. Our room constantly crashes, doesn’t save and it completely unoptimized for VR. IDK what we are even supposed to do at this point.

These are the differences I’ve noticed between the upgraded and classic bean. I hope they can be adjusted to better replicate the original look and feel:

Mouth Sprite Positioning: Some mouth sprites on the upgraded bean appear lower than on the classic bean. This causes them to disappear into beards or makes the chin look shorter than it is.

Hairstyles: Several hairstyles look different now. For example, the Prankster has less volume, Long Bangs now taper more sharply toward the jaw, and ears and earrings no longer show with the Shagg. Idk if this is related to some of the hairstyles having lost volume, but some of the hats also look smaller?

Round Head Shape: The default upgraded round head looks more square than round. While the classic round head can somewhat be recreated by completely reducing the chin height on the oval head, this creates a weird bump or convex at the imaginary neck (that is very obvious from the side profile).

Body Profile: The upgraded bean bodies appear slimmer and smoother from the side. They lack the curves and thickness of the classic bean.

Dress Length: Dresses are longer on the upgraded bean. I assume this is to accommodate both the bean and FBA. However, this change makes them look off because bean bodies don’t have legs, and therefore, have different standards of modesty. The longer dresses make it seem like they’re supposed to have legs to cover when they don’t.

Fit of Outerwear: On the hourglass and pear body, outerwear like cardigans, capes, and RRO vests cinch at the waist and flare outward.

This works well over dresses because dresses naturally flare from the waist, making the outerwear appear to drape naturally/follow the shape underneath. However, when worn with regular tops, this cinched and flared shape looks off because there’s no underlying volume to support the flare. You can adjust the waist and hip width to make the outerwear look more natural, but this results in unnaturally narrow hips. I prefer the straight drape of the classic bean.

Other stuff: Moving around in VR doesn’t look as smooth compared to the classic bean, and the hip sway of the upgraded bean on screen mode looks funny. This should be corrected when personas are introduced though..

The mouth thing is my main peeve, i believe it’s because originally the sprites aligned their middle with the set mouth position, but now they align their top with the set mouth position, making them stretch down which has looked a bit goofy as long as FBA has existed.

Something else we’re missing is better controller over eyes and glasses height. They’re both influenced by nose height, but glasses height cannot be manipulated manually which players have wanted for yeeaarrssss.

you may not believe it but this is exactly why.

it’s a bug with the favorite holster.

..and that some people are running a camera stealing busine- i mean creating piles of cameras just to lag out servers.

What I don’t like about the new bean is mostly that the mouth just always looks strange. I think maybe the old bean had the mouth expressions expanding from the center line of the mouth, and maybe the new bean mouths make their expressions shifting upward or downward from the mouth (I can’t remember which one… I just remember that it always looks really strange)

The facial expressions are really what give your avatar their personalities, moreso than even the clothes… so when the facial expressions/placements are changed, it also changes the “feel” that you want to represent your personal avatar.

When will weeklys come back? will they?

I have since noticed an additional issue.
When the player is sat in a seat or crouching, the avatar appears to always lean forward which looks unnatural. I think the previous version sitting and couching was a more natural look. I would like this to be optimized in a future update to the UBA.

Yup. Not enough people talk about this. Old mouth animations were aligned at the center of the height of each frame, new animations are aligned at the top of each frame, and since they all vary in height alot, it causes a very unnaturally stretched downwards look, where a smile might be high up on your face, but an open mouth while talking will appear to be a good inch or two below it.
