Rooms 2.0 Is a fantastic tool. But not ready for the current building competition

With all do respect to the Rooms 2.0 team, Recroom staff and the staff running the current building competition!!

I dont feel like it was a very good idea to require rooms 2.0 for the competition,

-Rooms 2.0 lags consistently

-Makerpen build magically disappear when saving or cloning built objects

-Makerpen objects shift slightly when cloning

-Pivot points move into werid places when merging into containers

The list goes on and on unfortunately, im well versd in rooms 2.0 as i teach it in my maker pen class however its simply not ready for something as big as a building competition. It puts creators that want to participate in the competition at a disadvantage in performance and risking detail due to lag.

No to mention it extremely decreases morale for this competition along with future competitions id they happen to require the same going forward.

Lastly, im not just complaining without solution.

Id recomend separate categories one for 1.0 and for rooms 2.0. Please consider accepting 1.0 rooms. Do it for the community. Do it for the players that love Recroom. Do it for the creators that want to participate in the competition.

No amount of “how to guides” will fix rooms 2.0, the community understands it will take time. However with the current build happening in the present. With only 5 weeks to build we need solutions NOW not later.

Consider these things, For what its worth.

I agree with the above points.
Not all creators are proficient with Rooms 2.0, and may wish to enter the competition utilizing the longer available Rooms 1.0.
I think not allowing Rooms 1.0 will alienate some creators and the hard work they have put into creating the rooms.
