Hey, y’all!
Keeping Rec Room safe for everyone is an important job, and we’re always looking for ways to do this better and faster. Recently, our focus has been on inventions with our Automated Invention Review System (AIRS). Now, we’re leveling up how we handle room reports.
With the next update, we’re making it easier for you to show us if there’s content that breaks the Creator Code of Conduct in a room by adding a new feature that lets you attach a photo of the room to your report. Here’s what’s changed and why it matters.
A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words
You’ve probably heard this saying before, and it’s true. A photo can explain things way faster than typing out a long description (especially if you’re in VR).
With this update, you can now snap a photo of content in a room and include it in your report.
Here’s what you need to know:
- You can attach a photo when reporting a room for sexual or discriminatory content.
- You need to be in the room when you take the photo.
- Only one photo per report (if there are multiple violations, snap a photo of the worst thing).

Picture This: Reviewing Your Reports Even Faster
So, how does adding a photo help? Simple:
- Our moderators can see exactly what you’re talking about without having to search through the room in-game.
- This means they can review reports faster and handle more cases.
- Plus, we’re starting to use our image moderation systems to analyze submitted photos and flag reports for quicker moderator attention.
One More Thing…
We’ve improved and expanded Coach messages to room reports! If you recently reported a room and we took action by closing or banning the room, you’ll now get a Coach notification letting you know.
Your reports help make Rec Room safer for everyone. We hope these updates make it even easier to flag bad content and quicker for us to resolve the issue. Keep up the good reports! We’ll come back and update you on how the new system is working in practice.
