Maker AI Is Ruining Rec Room

I understand that Maker AI is a great idea and a wonderful thing to invest in, but why add it publicly to Rooms 2.0? The whole point of Rec Room is to “Give it your Rec Room best!” and be as creative as you can and show it to the community, Maker AI completely destroys that whole point of Rec Room. It would be a good idea but for dorms only, as a creator it greatly hurts me to see that something i spent months learning can be done in a couple of seconds by a kid who hasnt touched the makerpen before, i would love Maker AI in dorms but releasing it publicly to Rooms 2.0 defeats the whole purpose of Rec Room, why make a game about personal creativity and seeing what PEOPLE can create if you’re just gonna add an AI to the game that can do it in seconds (it also does a really bad job). It isn’t developed enough and you guys are just ruining your game even further which is the reason why alot of creators (your main income sources) are leaving, all im saying is remove Maker AI from Rooms 2.0 as it defeats the purpose of Rec Room… Thank You.

Rec Room had the people on their staff team before they cut a flurry of innovators from the company say that creativity through imagination and hard work is their goal.

Now they’re goal is to remove the “hard work” portion, and replace it with something like “with words.”

Not to mention, the kids have to use their mic. Where is prompt support for the kids @NXCL34R mentions? Is this turning into a situation similar to Roblox taking files of peoples voices?

Me personally I’ve been playing rec room for a while now, and I get that getting rid of maker Ai or whatever it’s call is a good idea but at this point in time Rec room is really more focused on their income. (Season pass) this encourages people to buy so they get rewards the more they play, similar to Fortnite, so the creativity isn’t even being shown from rec room. So at this point in time rec room has lost all of its own features and are following other games, why it’s going to die out. You can argue that there are many artist and workshops and all that stuff, but it’s such a small fraction of rec room. If Rec room where to figure its stuff out it would be original and creative not trying to follow Roblox or Fortnite.

I feel like people don’t understand this, not just you. Recroom has to make money to be sustainable. I get it; I hate how they’ve done it, but for it to be a fully functional company that can last, it has to make money through any means. I know the execution of how they’ve done it hasn’t been the right way, but it’s necessary.

I will admit this is a sticky topic some say it’s necessary for income and that’s true, others say it’s ruining the community and creativity of the community and that’s also true.

Personally I think arguing over this is stupid itself while debates are important for the best of the community this is something that should be avoided.

Yes, a big game like rec room needs a sustainable budget that can handle the demand of its users and rec room is in an era where this is most important. Although that is sometimes a hard thing to control games must figure out a way to make its budget sustainable in a way that won’t hurt its community and Yes I do think Rec room really isn’t following this.

I do think the AI is hurting the rec room community and it’s creativity that is one of the key reasons of its development after all if rec room was built off of 1st hand devolving it wouldn’t be as big as it is now. So due to its dependence of its community it’s important to make sure the users are in a medium point demand of new games. If demand was low than that means new games won’t get any traction while old games would prosper this overall, will hurt the community’s growth and creativity. Once the old games die out demand will rise and the creative community won’t be ready. If demand is to high than the community will be forced to pump out tones of games, this is ultimately cause a rise in exhaustion of supply (good, new, and fresh games) which will cause underworked and lazy games to fill in the supply gap.

Overall I think rec room Should just slow down and cut the development of the maker AI and use the new income (from the cut of AI development) and use it to create new and better tutorials and other ways to teach the community the complex system of the Maker pen which will allow for easier development for those who need a quick and efficient option on developing games and also supporting the creativity of its community helping those who want to truly ding in and make more professional games.

Btw Im just some stupid dude so there’s a high chance non of this is helpful.

I agree, I just posted about my terrible experience with it. It’s terrible

Ok, we really need to start making posts about getting rid of ai NGL. they make you pay 2$ for ai. but then if you use it too much it takes it away EARLY! like how is that legal. they need to stop it with ai .

Stop whining.

Imagine the Wright brothers whining at the door of a major airliner saying ‘yo it took us years to learn to fly and you’re just using airplanes’:joy:
Just freaking deal with it
