Have you ever wished you could just say “haunted forest” or “alien canyon” and watch it come to life around you? Now you can! We’re excited to introduce Environments - an experimental Maker AI feature that lets you generate natural 3D environments using simple voice or text commands.
Think of Environments as your creative launchpad. It gives you basic terrain and atmospheric elements, but the real artistry, the unique and detailed level design, that’s all still up to you, the creator.
It’s also important to mention that Environments was not trained on any creator rooms or any player data. The environments generated only use Rec Room official objects that were made by our talented art team.

Environmental objects that bring your room to life. Cacti for deserts, trees for forests, rocks for the moon, etc
Just equip your Maker Pen and ask for the environment you want. Then watch as it pops into existence around you.
How to Get Started

Grab a Maker AI Day Pass from the Rec Room Store

Create a new R2 room or load an existing R2 room where you have Maker Pen permissions

Enable “creative beta” in the room settings (required)

Equip your Maker Pen and describe your dream environment to Maker AI with voice or text!
What to Expect
This is a beta feature that we’re releasing early for your experimentation and feedback. Think of it as a creative playground to test ideas rather than a production ready tool. We’re still working on improvements before it’s ready for projects you plan to save and develop further.
A typical environment should generate in just a few seconds. More complex requests may take up to 30 seconds or more for all of the objects to load in. You can explore the environments and start building even while objects are still spawning.
