Shadows to the light component

If the light component had shadows it would make it easier to make the mood it a room creepier, it would also make the lighting for a room (not a game kind of room just a house’s room) cooler because the door would actually trap the light.

Sorry if that didn’t make sense i cannot make things sound like they make sense when really they make a lot of sense they just sound like they don’t.

Edit: if this does get added please make it a togglable setting in the room or the light itself because there are some cases where the no shadows is useful

Shadows would be nice. However this is a pretty expensive visual effect to pull of on PC VR and especially android (quest).

What you can do in the meantime is baking your scene in RRS. I’m unsure if this feature is available in Studio but I might take a look around. You can do this in VRChat worlds, this is how most of the shadows you see in worlds there are created.

fyi baked lighting isnt supported on rec room, sadly. There are programs you can bake the lighting into the texture data of an object, like blender.

In studio, you can set spotlights to have shadows, but with maker pen spotlights they dont have this option, which is weird and I think the option should be there.
