RecRoom Maker Ai

Even though I’m like 100000000% against generative ai, if they do add this, they better add a hashtag labeling the room as “Using AI” or something. Because this really isn’t fair to the community at all if there’s no separation.

Not only that, but if there is any use of generative AI, there is a 100% RecRoom is going to be losing a LOT of players, especially creators. (Likely me as one of them)

To help support my claim, here’s some community input:

“I’m going to straight up say if you add this stuff where it’s generative and can make builds from the ground up I will be quitting
I don’t really think it’s worth causing circuiteer and builders to completely become obsolete”

“Absolutely, I do like not having to open the horrendous looking menu (#fixui) to grab things from the palette, but i am quite concerned about how the ai takes up creativity. think of it like how ai can replace a job, except this job is rec room builders”

There are plenty of other arguments as well you can find in the RecRoom discord!

I think the #UsedAi label is a great idea if most of the room was created with the AI but if someone was to only use the AI to ask for chips/props I don’t think it should have the label

I understand why some players dislike the introduction of Maker AI, as there is concern that it could be “abused,” with maps relying too heavily on the AI rather than your skills and own input. However, I believe there are good reasons to keep it as a big part of the creation tools.

For many creators, those alike me who focus primarily on 3D building and the artistic side of map creation, Maker AI could be a helpfull tool. Many of us don’t have the knowledge or experience with CV2 to handle complex game mechanics, so having AI assist to help and work with would allow us to focus on what we do best: creating visually appealing environments.
