Description

Prompt local player displays with “enter text” instead of configured prompt when triggered with a user pressing a button (see images).

This is when creating a password-opened door using CV2 chips: Button, Prompt Local Player, If, Equals, Rotator, and 3x Delay chips.

This has happened repeatedly on PC - Steam version, shortly after editing the room in Unity (rec room studio), and then editing and saving in-game on PC.

The bug has not occured for me on Quest 3 or Andriod tablet, which I was using previously. The circuitry worked on previous saves - this is a new bug.

Interesting find… but why not use the Player Prompt Text chip?

This bug has actually been around for over a year now and I’m surprised it’s still not fixed. Maybe this only affects a select few people but I suggest using the newer version of the chip(in beta enabled rooms) to get around that for now.

Cv2 is not my strong point, and this was just the way I could make it work. :sweat_smile:

Is that a totally different chip? Does it do the same thing?

This bug only seems to be happening on screen mode, so I don’t think there’s a need for me to change it for now - since everyone who will use it will be in VR.

The Player Prompt Text chip does the same exact thing but it uses the new UI. Just replace the Prompt Local Player chip with the Player Prompt text chip and you should be good to go.
