We’re excited to share that the new Maker Pen Beta is now live on consoles!
Earlier this year, we launched a new beta version of the Maker Pen on mobile to help make creating in Rec Room easier and more fun. Now console players can also check out this version of the Maker Pen!
Xbox and PlayStation players can try out the beta version starting today. Nintendo Switch players will see the beta version appear in another week or two once our next Switch update goes live. We’ll update this announcement for Switch players once that happens.
Just like on mobile, the classic Maker Pen is still available. You can switch between the classic and beta versions anytime and use whichever one feels best to you. The beta version can be found in the equipment wheel on console, in the same location as the classic maker pen.
We’ve worked hard to make sure the beta Maker Pen feels great with a game controller. Remember how annoying it was to open a whole menu just to switch tools? Well, we fixed that!
Now you can stay in the zone and keep creating by using the controller shortcuts to quickly swap tools. No more getting pulled out of the creation flow or losing your train of thought. Building on console should now feel smoother and more fun.
We’re continuing to improve the Maker Pen beta with new features, polish, and fixes. Your feedback helps shape what comes next so please go give it a try and let us know your thoughts! You can leave feedback here on this post, in the Maker Pen Interface chat and Maker Pen interface feedback channels on Discord, or using the in-game reporting system (Settings > Misc > Bug report).
