There should be a build contest every 3 months. Theme should be announced then the players have 3 months to build and can not publish ahead of time. New theme will be announced when rooms are published. Then 2 months after publish for visits. Make sure every room allows each player to rate the room once. The rooms with the highest ratings win. After the 2 months recroom will have a month to determine winners and to create holotars with links and posters for a special room connected to the recenter. They will be on display for 3 months until the next contest winners are chosen to take their place. The token prizes don’t have to be high just have unique avatar items and the exposure in the rec center. I believe this will spark new and better creativity in recroom. And make sure contest get notifications on the watch, main recroom youtube channel, and make sure contest rooms have their own tab in the watch. Would be nice if you could scroll through all the contest rooms or atleast have the selection change every hour or something.
The quality of life would significantly decline if it occurred every three months, and maintaining the same level of quality of event, themes and rewards as before would become prohibitively expensive. Additionally, the short time frame between each event would severely diminish the quality and creativity of each room, especially if the same teams or individuals were expected to participate repeatedly in my opinion.
maybe instead of a contest maybe a showcase? basically like the gallery thing that already exists but more official with events and themes if you want to make it more like a contest. But no contests, i think it would be REALLY hard to handle
I dont think that would be enough of a motivation for builders… if recroom did the contest different like letting players rate the the rooms there would only be a minimal amount recroom would have to do… and yea someone always figures out how to cheat a less hands on system… they could make it so you have to be an active player to rate rooms.
