I know that players have already posted about this, but for MY post, i will provide three good reasons why it should happen.
No offence, but all of the recent things added to RR like Roomies, R2, Maker AI(discontinued) RRO Mod Tickets, etc. haven’t really added to the games experience, and it definitely did not make me want to play Rec Room more. Weekly challenges are a thing that most of the community have been asking to be brought back for a long time, and i know that (for me, anyway) players would definitely be more engaged with weekly challenges.
I know that Rec Room has been focusing on new things, but weekly challenges are so old, if you brought them back they would SEEM new
You can bring them back AND PROMOTE THE NEW STUFF AT THE SAME TIME! If you added challenges related to engaging in new angles of the game, then you would be satisfying the players wants, and promoting your new features!
If you got this far, please upvote the topic if you feel the same way or agree with what i’m saying, so that Rec Room is more likely to take notice and bring back weekly challenges.
P.S. Here’s a list of possible challenges to promote Rec Rooms new features
Boost 1 room
Use (number) roomie energy
Gain (number) event points
Take (number) videos with the share camera
Complete (number) matches of ^Paintball with (RRO mod) enabled
Win ^GoldenTrophy with (RRO mod) enabled
if you have any more challenge ideas, feel free to post them in the comments!
i feel that they def should bring it back but they should change it up and make it a little easier for those like me that only get to play 1 time a week. if they did that i think more ppl would try to complete it.
Definitely should be a top or next priority on their list as they’ve been releasing new skins regardless of there being new weeklies. If they have to make the option of making the weeklies possible and still trying to make revenue off of it.
If they can make it where it has a rotation like last time and this includes new releases, after that week passes and they miss the opportunity then have it in the shop list. Have it where if someone misses the skin. Have a small discount on the skin before its back on the original prices, I’m just giving ideas to allow players to still get free skins and the option for the devs to still have a way to make revenue. I don’t see that as much of an issue and if they can figure out a good way to do it people would be ok with it.
From what they can do and how fast they’ve been able to make new stuff I have high hopes they can listen to the ideas players have for this.
From what your ideas are for challenges, not a big fan of the idea of boosting a room or roomie energy being qualified as a weekly challenge, that will ruin and make people not want to even do the challenge in the first place due to them having to pay regardless.
I really think that they need to move backwards and see older mechanics.
Here are some simple challenges that can be done in the simplest way and still make interacting with other players more fun.
High five 10 Or more players (ofc they would need to code it where its not abused by just 2 players spamming the high five.
I do like the idea of cameras videos would be a little excessive but It does introduce the feature to more players who are unaware of it’s existence.
I think that would fit more to RROs or interactions, Take a picture of a specific enemy in a RRO, a boss or enemy.
Event’s is cool but it should stick to events and only that as I don’t see how events would tie into challenges in the long run.
Eat food items, encourage players to share ingame items together
Play a game with players, use the backpack games as a way to interact with one another, Definitely think they need to find a better way to give out games, not just sell but maybe add it to the daily rewards system?
Paintball with RRO mods enabled would be cool, I would prefer the game to have a set time before a random event is enabled so it still give players a chance to get the challenge and not feel forced to purchase. But the option is still open regardless.
Same goes for RRO mods for Quests, I think that one is perfectly fine. Personally not a fan of RRO mods having to be a purchasable feature, would rather them be a random event that can happen by surprise.
I don’t think I’ve seen a challenge for charades before. That game unfortunately hasn’t had much traction so I would love to have a challenge that can make players go back into that game.
I like the idea of there being challenges to kill specific enemies in Quests, kinda like a bounty?
A Quest bounty system would actually be sick, it could be another type of challenge system, but instead of a item it would be a specific amount of tokens every time. That would 1000% encourage players to play more.
Idk I have so many idea that could be introduced so I might make a post by itself.
