When a player leaves, replicated objects they were authority of become have their authority set to invalid players

  1. Have one player Replicate objects from the replicator, ensure that the replicator is NOT assigning authority to any objects, then have that player leave
  2. Attempting to do anything with their replicated objects results in nothing happening
  3. Setting the authority of the objects by any means will fix the issue, mostly…

Description

Primarily saw this while doing a large scale playtest in AwakenFields with the nametag system. When a player left, their nametag object instead of being assigned back to room authority got set to an invalid player. To fix this I just set the authority of their nametag object to be for room authority.

To address the “mostly” in the repo steps, multiple players who joined in the instance AFTER a player left reported seeing the nametags of other players just floating, despite it looking fine on my end (as I had never left the instance)

I am currently out of town right now, but I’ll see if I can get the log file when I get back

“local player is invalid” has appeared for me too now. The objects being held (force equipped by circuits) don’t seem to update when they get dropped when a player leaves the room. i.e. Got this message not using a replicator. Quest 3.
