Rebuilding The Creative Community

Now that Meriesa is no longer a dev at Rec Room — and considering she was one of the main people behind hosting Rec Room events— I think it’s time for us, as a community, to step up and continue what she helped build. We’ve all been a part of something special, and while things change, that doesn’t mean we have to lose the essence of what made those experiences so great.

I believe we should focus on expanding and supporting the newer generation of creators, ensuring they have the same kind of opportunities and encouragement that we had when we first started. It’s important to hold onto those memories—whether it was snowman building during winter, the old monthly build contests, or even something as simple as tutorial rooms that helped people learn the basics of creating. These events weren’t just fun; they helped shape the Rec Room creative community into what it is today.

Some might think this idea is small or insignificant, but I truly believe that if we bring back these kinds of experiences, we can have a huge impact. Helping new creators get started, just like we once did, can foster a stronger, more connected community. Even small efforts — like hosting a creative event every week, organizing fun challenges, or even planning a full-scale creative Rec Con by Rec Room creators — can inspire and welcome more people into the space that Meriesa helped cultivate.

Little things can make a BIG difference. We just need to take that first step. If you have any ideas or want to be a part of making this happen, let us know! Let’s keep this community growing and thriving together.

Lowkey if I’m being honest we should totally do this! I believe we could have a discord server that is sort of like how creator hub is but is mainly for uprising/new creators. This discord will include the info of what this service is. Restating what you (23ktmc) said, having monthly contest, tutorial rooms, etc. I believe we can we should do this. My idea for a plan is to get a server sort up, a room, and probably more. Thoughts?
