and so I installed rec room via steam on fedora linux it gives an unknown error. while other games run just fine.

this is known; an update broke support for proton because there was a misconfiguration with themida.
theres little effort for proton support at the moment as they focus on anticheat. after they nail that, supremium will bring back support. heres a forum on the rec room discord, show your support there
