Latest update has HORRIBLE lag when selecting model, before update, had very little lag selecting same model

Reproduction Steps

Select an entire model, presumably a medium-high ink invention containing multiple parts. Thats all it takes for the lag.

(device i used is actually meta quest 3s, i only put quest 2 cause its not as powerful as the quest 3.)
So, in rec rooms latest update ON VR, it has a bug where selecting a model made of maker pen shapes would cause lag that was NOT there before the latest update. I KNOW, that before the update, it would barely have any lag. ANY INVENTION OF SHAPES that is MEDIUM and/or HIGH INK tends to have such lag IN THE LATEST UPDATE. Again, before rec room updated on vr, it was barely laggy. Theres an update, and now its unreasonably laggy when selecting the same models, in the same room, and in the SAME WAY. And sure, it could be cause its medium and high ink inventions, which, it somewhat is, but ive never lagged this bad selecting it before the most latest update. Was something changed about having multiple parts selected?..

I’ve been experiencing this in Rooms 1 and 2 on Quest 2 as well. Have you also experienced the Watch not working?

No, the watch has been working fine. I don’t think I have ever seen the watch not work recently.

I have experienced this, I’m on PC, and I’m getting like 7 fps from selecting objects with a lot of shapes in them. The best thing to do to get around it for now, attach everything to a clamp and move it with the clamp.

Good to know PC players experience this too… But thanks for the temporary solution with the clamp thingy. Tried that before and it DID help, though it still would tick me off having to move it cause i would have to be more careful with where I place it :sob:.

It’s best to keep a standard of where you place your clamps every single time, that way it’s easier to remember where it is. I used the clamp method, before this bug anyway, to keep my creations on a 90-degree rotation snap, so it doesn’t go wonky when I try to spawn it in as an invention. A pretty useful tip to remember when creating imo.
