Event Page Update Idea

Hello Creator Forum!

My feature request is to add Permissions to Events. Why? Because Trolls and Scripter’s exist, as well as this could be a very convenient addition for MANY scenarios.

How would this work? I think it could be as simple as a “PRIVATE EVENT” toggle on the event creation page that allows for anyone that wants to join to be "reviewed” by the event creator. Something along the lines of “This person wants to join the event! Allow/Deny” and it would let you review their profile. Maybe to look and see their level/photos/outfit and to decide if that person is right to join the event; However, it could also be as complicated as a full admissions process (Like answering questions or multiple choice options/Like an application to join the event). The players themselves would “make” the questions (Google Form esc.) OR also give them an ability to filter levels on a slider (LvL 1-20 Can’t join for an example).

Q: Why not make a private instance?
A: Because the Events page allows for a great level of Publicity that RR pages struggles with normally and this would allow people to control their events and craft the community they want in it.

Q: What if the Event Creator leaves?
A: I have a two part answer.

  1. The event becomes unlocked
  2. They implement a “Event Creator/Mod handoff” (Like giving ownership of a room type of thing".

I think this is a GREAT idea because this system gives event creators the motivation and drive to STAY and host their events rather than make a popular event and leave just for visits. It shows which mod teams are trying to build a community and those who are looking for tokens/visits.

Final Statement: I truly believe that this could be a way to regulate players a little more and provide some safety to communities. I care so much for this game and want the best for it and the people can make or break that. It’s not a perfect solution but it’s one that will keep players in rooms for longer and able to let them PLAY the game. Which is what we all want.

Also could room ban anyone mistakingly let through & then “Transfer to new instance” where it prompts everyone saying “abort due to offenders” where they can choose to follow room staff that used it into a new instance. Also should track first time joining public instances of rooms so that they can divide how many of those rooms players are banned in for a “Room ban ratio” so you have a slider allowing a minimum room ban ratio to be able to join

& events should have categories so that militarys dont hog the single carousel as they do now

& instead “private” toggle, maybe “gated” or “protected” & it shows a icon on room thumbnail to show that the creators are expected to making a effort in keeping the event alive

Using “Gated” is a much better way of putting it, thank you! Also having multiple event categories (that aren’t just searching hashtag) is also a great addition.
