2D UI has giant dead zones on vr

Not really rooms 2.0 specific but since its inception almost 2 years ago there has been giant dead zones with the makerpens 2d UI, that’s still happening today, if the worst part is its just how I’ve always naturally held my makerpen, and this issue never happened with the 3d UI, the 3 discord links below are over the past 2 years of reporting this bug but never getting fixed

I would post the videos but the forum doesn’t take videos, the issue is only on VR platforms, the issue has been around since day 1 (Roughly march 2022 when the 2d UI got rolled out for the makerpen) its been reported multiple times including with zendesk tickets ( #400937 incase a staff member wants to look into it more) with 0 fixes/improvements, it isn’t hard to re-create and it really causes comfort issues while creating since I have to awkwardly shift my body to get into a better position so it actually responds, never had this issue with the 3D UI’d makerpen, only the 2d UI makerpen

This happens not only on PC, but also on PSVR, I have the same problem.

Just adding in that this still hasn’t been fixed, I even experienced it for the first time on screen mode too lmao…I miss 3d ui

We’ve logged a bug for this! We also moved it into the ‘General Creation’ category since the engineers have requested we keep the R2 board to just R2 specific issues

I’m seeing this work is done internally and should ship in one of the upcoming updates. Keep an eye on the ship notes! marked as ‘resolved’

Hey @Shawn, will there be a patch from RecRoom soon? I’ve not received any update to my RecRoom app, and while in-game the UI still behaves the same way.

It’s gotten better in VR, I have had issues on screen mode randomly not accepting inputs, but for VR its better now

Hmm… I’ll have to send in a video later because there are still many instances where clicking at high angles close to 90° it wont register a click at all. Unfortunately it doesn’t really feel improved for me :frowning:

It must wait, changes do not come immediately, but over time. I personally had it this way. Idk why ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If you do please post them! the more the devs see the more they get pressured to fix it!

If you didn’t see any improvements then yeah plz post a video of where you are still seeing the issues!
