What does the "New Filter" do in a function definition chip?

What does function definition Change Filter do?
I have been confused about this ever since functions came out.

Hello @OE_KT “change filter” allows you to organize your functions into different categories of chips in your makerpen.

As shown in the images, you’ll find your functions organized under those categories or new ones.
