Reproduction Steps

Step 1: Create a Rooms 1.0 “Default” Maker Room.

Step 2: Log into Rec Room Studio to upload a save to rec.net.

Step 3: Once the build is complete and uploaded into Rec Room, join. Bring 1 other player minimum.

Step 4: Make tests; spawn a CV2 button (or UI button) or any local interaction component, and make the execution and player lead into a Player Variable (Turn on SYNCED Setting In Config Menu)

Step 5: Ask Player 2 (Not the room owner/Authority) to press the button. Normally, this should set them as the synced player output of the player variable.

Step 6: Check results. The Player Variable will not return the Player 2, it will return as invalid. As if the Player 2 doesn’t exist. I can only compare this to the Room Load Creation Data setting in Rooms 2.0/Advanced Maker Room Subroom Settings.

Step 7: Run other tests (Add Tag to player 2, a “Get All Players With Tag/Get First With Tag” chip doesn’t return the Player 2, just returns invalid)

Description

This bug is more than definitely a Rec Room Studio Synchronization bug. Whenever Player 1 (Room Authority/Owner) clicks a button/utilizes circuitry, every thing works swimmingly. But as for Player 2, nothing works at all. Player 2 can click the same buttons Player 1 does, and even see the circuit orange wires glow when executing an Add Tag or Player Variable Set, but the tag isn’t added/event isn’t sent/player variable is not changed when Player 2 pressed it.

I again really think it’s similar to Room Load Creation Data settings in Rooms 2.0/Advanced Maker Rooms, but that isn’t an option in R1 rooms.

Even when I use “Show Circuits To All” setting without maker pen, Player 2 always reports that the orange wire glows and everything seems to be working. But then they don’t get returned as having the tag, or the event doesn’t send, or the player variable just returns as the previous output, not the Player 2 that clicked it.

I’ve copied my subroom and moved it into another room to test if it fixed or not, it didn’t. I haven’t tested in a Base R1/Default MakerRoom, but whenever it used #rrstudio it appears to not work. Maybe run the tests and repro steps in a normal one and see if it doesn’t work also.

Thank you for reading and your time, tag systems are crucial to my game and it would be a huge help if this bug was able to swiftly be looked into and patched.
