The ^ObbyTemplate is a new Base Room designed to make creating your own Obby (obstacle course) simple and fun. Creators can easily clone any of the shapes or inventions around the room to modify the pre-constructed obby course. Or you can branch off in your own direction to create something new from scratch!
The template comes with two subrooms: the entry subroom, Main, which features our pre-constructed course, and Empty, which is intended to be a blank slate for creators. The ‘Empty’ subroom has one instance of each of the platforms and inventions we used in the room to help get you started.
Inventions featured in ^ObbyTemplate:
- Moving Platform - uses a Piston and ping-pongs back and forth
- Rotating Platform - uses a Rotator and rotates continuously around a pivot
- Rotating Cylinder - which uses a Rotator and rotates continuously around a pivot
- Falling Platform - which uses a Piston and falls shortly after a player steps onto it
- Climbable Wall - which is a simple shape that allows the player to climb on it
- Bounce Pad - which bounces players based on their velocity when they land on it
- Obby Checkpoints and KO Zones - uses a Trigger Zone to set a new respawn point for the player if they fall
- Finish Line Celebration - uses a Trigger Zone to play audio and visual effects congratulating a player for finishing the obby
All of these inventions are accessible inside Rec Room by opening the ^ObbyTemplate room details page and then scrolling down to the Inventions Used tab.
