The instances page NEEDS a rework really badly. It still uses the old 3D watch UI and is lacking a LOT of features we need to manage games.
Here’s a list:
The ability to shut down instances
The ability to make instances private without being there
The ability to view private instances but not who are in them. And maybe there could be a “request invite” button
The ability to refresh an instance
The ability to refresh ALL instances for when the creator makes a new urgent update
The ability to send global announcements to all servers
1000% agree! The instance browser is long overdue for an update. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve needed these options. I would also like to add “The ability to view event instances” as they currently don’t show up on the browser (similar to private instances). As well as the ability to see the primary platform of an instance, to know what platforms are being match-made into a specific instance (ex. “Mobile” or “PC”).
This is a great idea! I also think adding the ability to name and sort instances would be cool. Maybe even some sort of “instance set name” chip. That could let you create circuits that can name the instance depending on the type of platform lobby, player engagement, or something similar!
I would love being able to view event instances, although they are technically private instances, so I’m not sure how privacy would apply there? But then again, events are listed publicly so it would make sense to see all publicly listed events as instances.
Another cool idea someone mentioned on the forums here is giving players the ability to view publicly joinable instances, I think this would be great for people that want to join instances will low player counts, or go to ones with higher. Or, just see what subrooms actually have people in them.
event instances are like both private and public lol
public as anyone can join but private as they don’t appear in the instances menu
(also you cant screen share in events which mean they are public)
