I recently made a concept of a 1-5 star review system for rooms, where players could rate a room 1-5 stars, as well as provide a description as to why, look at other people’s ratings, cheer other people’s ratings, and see the room’s overall rating. I posted it on a few platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit, and got encouraged by a few people to post it here, so here it is:
The idea is great! But I would be so sad if the average rating my room had was less than 4 stars. I think a room comments feature would be better. Players can leave a comment consisting of general feedback, but not leave a rating, then players can cheer the comments if they agree. This would still give players the chance to let everyone know what they think of the room without slapping negative numbers in the creators face. This would be far less easy to abuse too.
Great idea. Id probably help with recroom low effort room problem on top of there current systems. Could also be a great place to see what you can onprove on on your rooms.
I feel like if you made bolth into one it would make it better cus then you see what the geniral people think of your room as well as help recommendations to players on the hot tab to pick a game.
@TOAST3R.mp4 I can see how you think this would defeat the purpose of the concept. But it wouldn’t. Players can still look at the top reviews, kind of like how Steam does it, the top reviews would be the reviews that people liked the most. They’d then get an idea of what they’re getting into. My idea just doesn’t generalise the ratings which will increase mis-use. I see my idea as a review system, the original is a rating system. My idea is more helpful to creators, and will lower the risks of mis-use.
This is already In the process of being made. But not to the level of detail you have made so far. Some players will get the popup when about to leave a room saying “How would you rate this room” and there’d be a star rating to rate it. But you cannot type comments onto it. But I feel that would be a great add-on to that
