Um, it’s a good concept, but I don’t know if I’ll use it… I’ve known the simple faces of Rec Room since 2018. I could try but I don’t think I can keep it if I want my character to look nostalgic. I-I’m not saying it’s a bad concept, on the contrary! It’s a very interesting idea!

You make a fair point that the game may decline due to its art style and the new creative direction brought by modernization. However, I don’t think the game itself—or the direction it’s heading—is necessarily what makes it feel “dead” or like a flop to some players.
A Rec Room YouTuber explained this in great detail, saying that it’s not the game that’s declining, but rather the feeling of “chasing the high.” Essentially, what once felt fun and timeless no longer does, and playing now feels like an attempt to capture that same feeling—but it’s never quite the same because we’ve grown and changed over the years.
To put it into perspective, it’s like sugar. The first time you taste it, it’s the most wonderful thing to put into your mouth, and for a long time, it remains the same way. But eventually, the same amount of sugar doesn’t feel as satisfying as it once did. Over time, you crave more and more, trying to recreate that initial feeling, but it will never be exactly the same— “The old will never be the new”
We don’t necessarily feel sad about nostalgia because the game was objectively better in the past or because “the good old days” were truly superior. Instead, we cherish those memories because they were fun, enjoyable, and memorable. Our tendency to look favorable on the past can sometimes cloud our judgment, making us believe that the game is declining when, in reality, our nostalgia influences our perception. Saying a game is flopping simply because it doesn’t feel the same as it once did can lead to biased opinions.
In the end, it’s not the game that has changed as much as we have. Nostalgia shapes our perception, but that doesn’t mean the game itself is failing

Rec Room is falling rapidly downhill
We’ve all seen this coming, with the release of full body, RR kinda ignoring our requests, and overall just by playing it and seeing these flaw in action
And then they released the announcement for AI
I think i have a solution for everyone, so make sure to keep reading! (especially YOU Rec Room employees, if you’re reading this.
Rec Room is being oblivious to the community (THIS IS NOT A ROASTING OF RR OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, I MEAN NOTHING PERSONAL AT ALL)
Recently, Rec Room has been releasing a TON of new things, but not really caring about what the community is ASKING for. This is making a lot of people pretty angry. I think RR should start listening more to what the community has to say. BUT. This is not just Rec Rooms fault. Due to many people either being too vague or too specific about what they want, RR can have a hard time of figuring out what people actually want. A post on this forum or somewhere else should BE CLEAR AND SIMPLE. Instead of asking for something like; a new quest with dragons and cannons and stuff, you should just ask for; a new quest that is unique and innovative. Simplify what you’re asking for and leave RR to the rest.
Respect is needed greatly, by both RR AND the community.
RR, you guys should try to pay more attention to what people are asking for, especially if they’re asking for it as a whole. Community, you guys need to have feedback for EVERYTHING RR does. BUT ONLY WITHIN A CERTAIN LEVEL OF RESPECT AND RULES. Dont just comment a post and be like;bro RR you suck this idea is stupid bye!. That is not respectful, or even very civilized. If you like the post then just say something like;love this! keep up the good work! If you like it AND you have something that could make other people like it too then go; hey RR! I love this idea! i think it would be good for REASON!. That way, more people might be convinced its a good idea too! And if you don’t like it, instead of just being rude, put up ACTUAL VALID REASONS WHY YOU DONT OR THNK IT WOULD BE BAD. And ALWAYS respond to what RR posts! I saw a post for something people wanted, and there were maybe 2 post going nice! or cool!. while posts about stuff people DON’T like, it has over a hundred nasty comments. Tell RR what you feel, especially if its good (and of course if you like some things and not others then say so but still give reasons)
I think, if we follow these guidelines, Rec Room will become much better than before. With the community and the staff working together as a team to make Rec Room better, instead of fighting about everything in an uncivilized manner, Rec Room can become one of the GOAT games (if not the greatest).
Please consider what i said RR, and if you agree, please repeat this to other players (BUT LET ME BE ANONYMOUS). And fellow creators and players, please, spread word of this and start putting it into action.
Oh, and Rec room staff? if you do care more about your players than making a cheap buck like you say you do, then you should care about this. (this is not a threat, in any way, shape, or form, but i do not speak for others)
Please do this, so we as a whole, Staff and Community, can make Rec Room great again.

Bro it look funny but i don’t like the full body avatar it look a little bit better then then the bean avatar but with the full body for me i don’t like it is my opinion so don’t get mad at me

Strongly agree here.
A lot of those changes happening in this game is not the end of the world here.
The game’s style didn’t really change for me, just the same bean and full body mannequins with permanent-marker faces, quests taking place in drama, and many models made from a cube, only added bonus is that people can add their own styles into there without taking it too far.

I like being able to adjust the face and having more options but i hope it doesn’t stray too far off from rec room’s style… like whatever they did with fba

LOL i remember that on my older account… that was–interesting. i think in my honest opinion that Rec Room should bring back a couple features they took away (thats why some people left) as well as enhancing some features (maybe custom watch themes.idk… or adding a metacam like some meta quest games)
