You may have noticed your emissive materials looked different in-game than they do in the Rec Room Studio Editor. We have now fixed it so the game shows the same brightness as you see in-Editor!
But, if you previously adjusted your color component values to compensate for the bug, your materials may look wrong after this fix. Here’s what to do:
Before this fix, if you have a room set up with these components is set up with gradients of materials like this
The brightest sections of the top gradient would be exponentially brighter, while the darker section of the lower gradient would be too dim.
After this change, the gradients appear much closer. But there can be differences you don’t want on the extremely bright or dim materials.
To fix that, you can adjust the ‘Emission Color’ settings to “RBG 0-1” in the drop down menu, then raise each component to the power of 2.2. This should bring your materials much closer to what you would expect.
