Hey Rec Room. Look, I don’t know why we started throwing dumb Gen Alpha language around. It’s kinda bugging me a lot. I’m tired of people talking about mewing, Skibidi Toilet, rizz, and other silly stuff. I want to ban brainrot in Rec Room because it is damaging everyone’s brains. As a Gen Z person, I think its not healthy to consume brainrot. I want all brainrot language to be censored in text chat.
EX: “Skibidi Rizzler” → “******* *******”
I don’t mind anyone saying “GOATED or GOAT, Cringe, Bop,” but I don’t want any brainrot words to slip through the cracks of Rec Room. Please, I want people to talk actual English in Rec Room.
I know the staff also banned Skibidi Toilet content because the owner, DaFriqboom said so, but other brainrot is dooming Rec Room. (Skibidi Toilet is also not my cup of tea.)
I also want to have a feature to votekick or report people saying brainrot language. That’ll help me a bunch. Will you fix this mess, plz?
I still want Poppy Playtime maps (fav horror game), but I hate how there are slop content and knockoff toys on the internet.
I hope brainrot comes to an end. Seriously, I’m tired of that stuff like “Hawk Tuah,” “Grimace Shake,” “Stick your gyat out for the rizzler,” etc, even that oversaturated & overstimulating Cocomelon. The next generation of kids will be screwed.
Ok, I understand the concern of this, but you can simply block them. And also because of how much people are truly brainrot in RR, the votekick would’nt really work because most would say no to the votekick anyways. Also again you could simply go to rooms that require a certain age level and behavior requirements (EX: Bars)
Thanks, but I meant, there are people on Youtube and even the staff throwing those words around online, Sk0l being the biggest example, even the staff is using those words and gestures. every time I see , or , I go ahead and tell Coach to send them to therapy.
I’d rather watch The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants than Skibidi Toilet.
A list of what we should say instead:
BRAINROT | Actual catchphrases:white_check_mark:
GYAT | Goodness-gracious:white_check_mark:
Erm what the sigma? | Erm, what the heck?
Can’t talk now, I’m mewing | Can’t talk now, I’m chewing my food/on the phone/I’m busy.
I heavily agree. this stuff shouldn’t be slipping through moderation and their current system only bans certain keywords, and anyone can easily bypass those filters. Like, for example, If I made a room that I wanted to call “Skibidi”. The filter would block me from making the room if it had that title. However, if I change one character. Like, “Sk1b1d1” if would completely bypass the whole thing.
Now I see what you mean, after reading the new RR update post on voice moderation and who you can and can’t hear. As stated, and I quote “You can also tweak your settings further to mute yourself, or others in the room while in a voice call so other players won’t accidentally hear you practicing your rizz.”. This was stated in the new update, and reading this one sentence alone aggravated me to the point I stopped reading. So, I now fully agree with your opinion.
For members moderating rooms, I probably wouldn’t want RecRoom to be censoring messages just so members moderating chat can see the context of the sender.
Maybe RecRoom could offer blacklisted words, in which users can blacklist words from being shown, and even offer chat filtering for players who aren’t 17+ age on their RecRoom account, to reduce swearing etc.
Hey there! Their vocab is def unique. I would like to remind people that everyone that Gen Z version of Gen Alphas brain rot was MLG, Montage Parodys, etc. This is their version of that.
If you dislike it, simply block them and move on, they’ll get it out of their system eventually. That’s just how it is growing up. We’ve all had that weird part of growing up, a lot of them are starting to learn about themselves and gaining an identity as an individual. It maybe cringe, yeah, but it’s part of their journey of growing up.
On this note as well. It’s extreme to say “Here’s what people should say instead.”
I get that you don’t like it. But demanding that people cease one form of vocabulary to adopt another is too far.
I really think your leaning wayyyyyyy too into it. They’re kids, they’ll stop eventually.
Bro i am a kid and a gen z but i don’t even like brainrot its wrong for people and even older people trying to learn brainrot like my teacher but good thing i moved school bc i dont even want to be brainrot pls send help to these people
